silverwitch:- Beltane is the perfect time for Hand Fasting.

Hand-fasting is an ancient  ceremony that was initially meant to last One year and a Day when you would have to either make your full vows or part ways. It  dates back to pre-Christian times and usually involved the tying or binding of the hands of the bride and groom with a cord or ribbon and the jumping over a broom.Today Hand-fasting can be seen  as the traditional one year and a day or as a full wedding ceremony.

This is a continuation of the first one. It got such a good response I thought I’d do the next one quick smart - who knows how many there might be altogether ;)

SkadiA giantess, called the ‘snow-shoe goddess’, and the embodiment of winter. She is the wife of the god Njord. When her father Thiazi was slain by the gods, Skadi wanted to take revenge. The gods thought it wiser to reconciliate and offered her a marriage with one of them. She was free to marry any god, but while she made her choice she was only allowed to see the feet of the potential candidates. She noticed a very elegant pair and, convinced that their owner was the fair god Balder, she choose them. Unfortunately for her, those feet belonged to the older god Njord. The marriage between Njord and Skadi was not a happy one. She wanted to live where her father had lived, in Thrymheim in the mountains, and Njord wanted to live in Noatun, his palace by the sea. So they agreed to spend the first nine days in the mountains and the following nine days by the sea. This arrangement did not work out very well, and they separated. Eventually, Skadi left Njord for the god Ull.

Um..hi, I've been searching around about Paganism for years, (since i was in the 4th grade) and now I'm already 15 and having the guts to find more knowledge about it. I'm willing to search everything, to save up for the tools, but i know that my parents will disapprove. is there any way that i can persuade them in my decisions?

I wish I had better advice for you, but since I don’t know your parents and can’t particularly predict how they will react, I don’t know what the best plan of action would be.

Are they religious at all? If they have a religion they are involved in, I would think it would be more difficult to persuade them.

I think the best thing for you to do is to find out why they do not care for Wicca. Find out if they have maybe some misguided or predisposed notions about the Wiccan religion and if so, show them that what they have thought about Wicca all along has been wrong. Whatever you chose to do, good luck! I am sorry I could not be of much help “/

Hi, my mother discovered that she was a natural witch at 19 or 20. Does that make me a witch as well? I've been studying the religion a while now and would love to learn more about it. Are there any books or websites you can give me? Thanks.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news baby, but there is no such thing as a natural witch. Everyone has an equal chance at being a witch and honing their skills. It’d be nice though if it were something you were born with! For books and information, check the left hand side of this blogs. There are tons of links to click PDF files/books to download.

So today i finally got my Wicca book. I was going for “Wicca for Beginners” But when i got to the bookstore, they didn’t actually have one in stock. So i found this one, and read the back cover, and decided, this would be better than my first choice. And it IS. I’ve already read the first chapter, and it’s everything i was looking for and more. It’s literally a Wiccan Encyclopedia written by two experienced witches. I’m so happy :)

Hi! Just asking if you have read anything of Silver Ravenwolf´s work?

I have not had the pleasure. I have mixed feelings about some of her work, seeing as I have heard some negative reviews. Fluffy bunny being the most common. I tend to read other authors before her, but I cannot say from personal experience how her books or ways of practice are.
